May Royal Mile Jam

We had a great jam this month, with excellent turnout. Thanks to everyone to coming! We had lots of fiddles, a pair of guitars, my smallpipes, and a Highland piper from the Netherlands regaled us with a few tunes.

The tunes we played were as follows:
Skye Gathering
Mrs. MacLeod
Duke of Fife's Welcome to Deeside
Miss Drummond of Perth
Loch Leven Castle
Willafjord
Sleep Soond ida Moarnin
Muckin' o' Geordie's Byre
Sailor's Wife
Off She Goes
Bonnie at Morn
Highland Whisky
Devil in the Kitchen
Devil Amang the Tailors
High Road to Linton
Hector the Hero
Spootiskerry
Flowers of Edinburgh
Atholl Highlanders
Tongadale Reel
Auld Rosin the Bow
Banks of Inverness
Soldier's Joy
Crossing the Minch
The Easy Club
Da Slokit Light
Da Full Rigged Ship
Da New Rigged Ship
Stumpie
High Drive
Sweetness of Mary
The Maple Leaf
Smith's a Gallant Fireman
Geordie MacLeish
Jenny Dang the Weaver
Highland Laddie
The White Cockade
Stool of Repentance

And a couple of Irish tunes.

After almost everyone had just left, Chris and I got a special treat: Native American flute sensation Ron Warren dropped in, with native dancer Mary Hope and his manager, and played a duet on his E-minor native flute with Chris on guitar. Very gorgeous stuff.

Again, thanks to everyone for making this our best session of the year to date. Keep coming out, and I'll see you next time!
