It was a lively session with lots of tunes and lots of conversation - there was plenty of meeting, greeting, and catching up to do. We were graced with fiddles, a mandolin, an octave mandolin, a cello, and smallpipes this time around.

Thanks to Anne Leslie for the pictures! And thanks to Anne, John, Ruth, and newcomers Clara, Greg, and Frances for joining us.

Having seen several Irish sessions around town routinely end on a certain tune (John Ryan's Polka), we are now fishing for suggestions for a regular "end of session" set. John suggested Stool of Repentance as one choice. Any others to make it a set?

Here are the tunes we played:
Drover Lads/Stool of Repentance/Muckin' O' Geordie's Byre
Dick Gossip's
Rakes of Mallow
(for the Irish players among us)
High Road to Linton
John Howatt's
Erin's Reel
(a John Ward original)
Highland Whisky/Devil in the Kitchen/De'il Amang the Tailors/Timour the Tartar/Jack Daniel's
Skye Gathering/Braes o' Mar/The Ale is Dear
Hen's March
Da Slockit Light
24th Guards Brigade at Anzio/Susan MacDonald/Colonel MacDonald
(pipe solo)
Dean Brig of Edinburgh/Banks (Ruth wanted to continue with Madam Neruda, so I'll have to learn that one!)
Cushion Dance
MacArthur Road
High Drive
Hut on Staffin Island/Barrowburn Reel
Crabbit Shona
Lexy MacAskill
Spootiskerry/Flowers of Edinburgh
Dutchess of Bedford's Strathspey
(I followed with Lady Georgina Russell's reel)
Chapel Keithack
Langour of Love
Bovaglie's Plaid
Pretty Pegg/Homeward Bound
Stool of Repentance
(reprise)
