February Fiddle Club & Royal Mile Conflict

Well, it happens every year. Once in a while, the Potomac Valley Scottish Fiddle Club is scheduled for the first Sunday of the month, rather than the second.

February is one of those months.

I will be at the fiddle club meeting. Could anyone who decides to go to the Royal Mile session email me a list of any tunes played?

January Wrap-Up

This month's Royal Mile was attended by just myself and Bob McIntyre, and so we played a few tunes together from previous weeks, and took turns soloing. It was New Year's Day, after all, and we were expecting a light turnout.

I didn't make it to the Fiddle Club meeting last weekend, which wrapped up the Fiddle Retreat weekend, but Barbara Perlik wrote to let me know that no one stuck around for a jam - not surprising, since it was a long weekend and for many, a long drive home.

Barbara asked me to mention that the Fiddle workshop Sarah Brenzo had me link on 12/29/05 is being taught by Iona's fiddler, Andrew Dodds. Andy's a great and enthusiastic fiddler, and so if you don't have plans, head on out!
